I wrote and directed Chekavar to bring the courage of a threatened coastal community to the screen. Its fictional story unfolds against the Battle of Colachel in 1741.

I’m a film director and writer from Kerala, working in Mumbai. My creative interests move between intimate human stories, crime drama and ambitious historical worlds. What connects them is my curiosity about people: what they carry quietly, what they fight for, and what happens when they finally have to choose.
Working with real Kalari practitioners taught me how much physical timing and intention matter to believable action. I want the freedom of new tools and the discipline of traditional craft.
I founded Avium Studios in India and co-founded Avium Studios UK to build a home for that ambition. My work now includes both the creative decisions inside a film and the responsibility of helping a team bring it to completion.
In September 2026, Avium Studios and Garuda X Media opened our Mumbai office in Andheri West. It is a new chapter with Prriyankaa Bajpai and our collaborators: building the people, process and creative confidence to take on more ambitious work.
I want to keep growing as a filmmaker, develop original stories and build a studio whose work can travel across languages and borders. The ambition is large. The commitment has to show up in the work, every day.
A silence, a contradiction, a choice someone cannot take back. I’m drawn to the human detail that gives a story its tension.
Performance, framing, editing and sound have to belong to the same emotional world. I want every choice to serve the scene.
Grow the team. Strengthen the craft. Give ambitious ideas the structure and shared responsibility they need to become films.
